Fiesta Lv60 Whoo!

Yes, hear it here folks, thanks to Lanowar_Elf and weareghost, I was able to level to 60. It took two good days, but I went from 20% to 70% the first day, and after the patch, (Which I will discuss in a bit here) I gained the other 30%. Completed the job change quests pretty easily, even though some say it is hard for Clerics, I found it not very difficult. Yes, I did record it and have uploaded it to Youtube. (Videos are posted below)

Part I:

Part 2:

Part 3:

Now I wanna talk to you about the new patch Fiesta recently had. In my opinion, it is just like any other patch. Outspark put it out for a reason (What it is is beyond me) but you cannot change what has been done. I am just hear to summarize the recent patch, and the good and bad to it.

Summary:
The patch changes a few rules, guidelines, and level limits to the playing of Fiesta.

The Good:

  • Lv10~xx can now go in abyss. So the level 20 abyss is now for levels 10~36, level 50 abyss is for levels 10~65, etc. Why is this good? It allows for powerleveling, and some people may consider it good because you get to kill noobs.
  • Kill points now work (For the abyss)
  • Movers in Dungeons (Allows for quicker movements)
  • Enemy DEX fix in Burning Rock (Some enemies were not hittable in the high 80s.)

The Bad:

  • Lv10-xx players going in Abyss. This is bad because noobs can be powerleveled and level up quicker, making for players that cannot control their character as well as the lv50~60s later on that used to be “better”.
  • All levels can go in Dungeons. (This one I don’t get. Why would you do that? You can just get a really high leveled player to help you through it, and people will kill bosses easily.)
  • Movers in Dungeons (Again, a bad thing because people may train the dungeons a whole lot more instead of slowly going through it.)
  • Certain Enemies in Burning Rock Have Raised Damage
  • Getting killed in an abyss makes you lose experience, even from a player kill now.

So the good and bad are the same, just like the last patch, you won’t find anything too good or too bad about the patch, and everyone has their opinions, but since it has not made such a large impact on the game, Outspark will not remove it.

Next topic, Rubik’s Cube! That’s right, I recently learned how to finish this marvel of a toy and do it through memory now! I will eventually provide instructions here, but you can find Youtube videos and online instructions on it all over the internet, so if you want to learn, get searching!

Concerning Marching Band, I say we did a VERY good job at Ironwood Ridge. We got all the caption awards and our teacher said we could go to state! Unfortunately, over 30 band members said they did not want to go. I didn’t get this at all…We did so well in Ironwood Ridge, and I was really hoping we could go to state, it would’ve been fun tripwise, and competition-wise and I say that’d be a day I’d remember forever…Now I will always wonder how well we would be if we could go to state. So the marching season is over again, and I’m kind of saddened by how quickly this year went…

Reading Rama Revealed, I recently have finished it, and I must say, it was a great book. I found all of Arthur C. Clarke’s older storytelling in this book, it was great. I am now reading Rendezvous with Rama, the first book in the series, again, read the last book first, now going in order to see how Rama Revealed connects to the whole story.

My friend Charles recently heard the song Delirium by Smiley on my CD player during the Ironwood Ridge band competition. Now he likes the song and has overplayed it. XD

This basically sums up this week, in Z-Gamers news, just been updating Fighter’s Field a little bit, stuck on level 28 on my game, so I don’t know how much farther I’m planning to go. From my website, the updates I have made recently:

-Added in lv30~40 Kingdom Quest
-Level Cap is now lv39 instead of lv35
-Enemies have increased power and health, but give you a lot more experience now.
-Buffs have been fixed to show up next to each other correctly.
-Fixed glitch where hovering over an info box makes your character glitch and messes up your file.
-Modified Experience given from quests.
-ALL Quests are now repeatable. They slowly get harder but give you more experience.
-Download Link has been changed, you can still access it as normal on this website and in the game.

So that’s that. New features I plan to include:

-Equips
-Online Multiplayer
-Higher Leveled Enemies

Watching the election right now, with McCain leading 13 to Obama’s 3, but of course, this is just the beginning…So we’ll see how it all works out within the next few hours.

That’s about it for now, stay tuned for next week’s post!

Video Game Mayhem 0.1

About a year ago, I started to work on a game called Video Game Mayhem, so this is kind of like a revival of this game too. Video Game Mayhem is based on Super Smash Brothers, and will have a large amount of similar features to the game. I am declaring this file Version 0.1 as there’s a lot of work to be done. I will explain the game a bit in its current state. When you start the game, you are shown a Select a Character screen, which lets you select from three characters. There’s Red Square, Blue Square, and Purple T. Red Square and Blue Square are obvious, and Purple T is a purple Triangle. Currently all characters have two attacks, and when you choose a stage and use them, you can see how they work. The spacebar is your normal attackĀ and down arrow key is your special attack. Red has a sword that swings around him when you press space, and when you press Space, it creates a small red square that spins downward to the ground and bounces off anything it hits for about 1 second, and then disappears. It’s powerful but quick and you can shoot up to 3 of them at a time. The Blue square has a slightly longer sword than red’s, but is not as strong. The special attack is a lightning bolt that can really hammer opponents under platforms. The Purple Triangle is more known for its great recovery moves and longest survival rates if you know how to use him. Whenever you turn right or left while ever falling, your falling rate slows down by 2/3rds the normal rate, so you can get back on platforms easily when you fly off. It’s normal move is a black line that moves upward from it. It’s very hard to hit someone with it, but can do about 30% at a time when it hits someone as it goes up and brings the person with them. His special move is not an actual attack, but more of a recovery. When you press it, for about 2 seconds, it turns into a black block and moves quickly downward and if it hits a platform, it’ll start bouncing. No one can attack it while it is in the black box, but you have to be careful about using it. Whenever you fly really high up and about to die, you can use that to stop falling. If you do not choose two characters, one for player and one for CPU, it will cause an error currently, but I am going to fix that in future versions. Once you’re actually playing, you’ll see two numbers on each character. The black top number is the percentage of your character. The larger it gets, the farther you fly off with each attack and the longer it takes to regain control of your character when you go flying. The green number is how many lives you have until you lose. The goal is to not fly off and die. Going too high or too low kills you and you lose a life each time. On the character selection screen, you can select how many lives there are by clicking the Stocks:3 button and then it’ll ask for a new number. Making it 0 will cause a game to end instantly. It will also keep track of your wins, losses, and total games played for the time you play that game. The camera system works quite well in the game as I have fixed it from a rather buggy camera system before, but now it always keeps both players on the screen at least. You can download this game here: http://www.box.net/shared/u5nqdrascs. I will update the Z-Gamers site soon.

Enough of that for now. I also completed the next version of Ball Amnesia with a few extra fixes, and the official level 3 added in, so now levels 1-5 and level 10 are now all in the Easy path to play, so I am halfway there to completing the official Easy path levels. You probably are wondering what the medium path will be like, hehehehe. Link to new version here: http://www.box.net/shared/o2m5m2es8s

The reason why I didn’t post for a whole day was because I was at my friend Michael’s house again yesterday, this time with my other friend Charles. It was fun. We played some Super Smash Brothers Brawl and that was fun. At the smash league, I was told that I really should start learning grabbing. They say I can become a much better player if I start implementing grabbing into my move arsenal, so should I? We also played Mario Kart DS and all three of us did go on wifi. At one point Michael and Charles found each other in a match against two others. One was a noobish player and the other was a decent power slider, but it ended up only being against them two. All three of us are snakers and love to play Mario Kart occasionally. We played some Magic: The Gathering. Now, I never was into the game and still never will be, but I guess it was ok. It took me about 30 minutes to learn the basic rules and terms of the game, but I did ok for the dark deck I was given. I was playing against a so-called Control deck and some other deck. My problem was using all my life for cards that were really good but sucked life out of me each term, which I eventually learned was bad. So that was all exciting and such.

We now have our general music for next year’s marching season for band, and I decided to take my E flat Alto Saxophone this weekend. I’ll put up some audio clips of me playing the tunes. Obviously just my part won’t sound that great, but I guess it’s ok to hear me play. I am not too good at playing my instrument but the effort is there. I will put some audio clips up tomorrow.

I also did another part of Earthbound today and am uploading the new video now.

So that’s a summary of what I did today and yesterday.

FreeBSD Sounds Good

I have read some articles and visited the FreeBSD website yesterday and I think we can all call it “the root of Linux”. FreeBSD’s manual is very descriptive and very logical in its data structure. I might wanna get it after experiencing the new Ubuntu 8.04 coming out in less than two weeks now! Maybe I can run a triple-boot.

In other news, I have big math test today. Hopefully I can do well on it as it will determine my half-grade. I call it my half-grade cause usually after the half point of school, your grade isn’t affected as much by the assignments you do because there’s just so many points.

I worked on Z-Tower Defense and the BZFlag Racecourse Bash Script some more. Both are coming well and I hope to have them done about 2 weeks or so from now. They’re what keep me busy most of the day now as I continue working on them.

My friend Charles is here sitting by me and wants to talk to you all for a bit.

hi there guys, my friend joshua sigona the aka sigonasr2, is a real tool……. i mean, he is like the biggest tool you can find….not joke…no lie

we fly high, no lie, you know this…….BALLIN!!!!

PC World had some interesting articles this month. I found a program called Pstart, which is basically a start menu customizer for Portable Apps. I use Firefox Portable, OpenOffice Portable, and plenty more portable applications from http://portableapps.com, and if you get these, you should get a program called Pstart at http://www.pegtop.de/download.php?file=start. It lets you make a customizable portable start menu you can place anything on and is very useful for portable apps.
